Success Stories RWU

After completion of my intermediate studies, in a highly competitive era, I was lucky enough and got admitted to my desired field of studies (BS Chemistry) at one of the top notch universities in twin-cities, Rawalpindi Women University (RWU) previously named as Post Graduate Govt. College for Women. This university has been the academic mother to thousands of qualified women serving in different fields and capacities not only in Pakistan but also in all continents of the world. Additionally, I was honored to be in the pioneer batch of BS Chemistry (2019-2023) of Rawalpindi Women University accredited by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC). During my studies at RWU, I was blessed with the highly competent teachers, cooperative and hardworking fellows and welcoming staff of the university. Moreover, the Department of Chemistry, being the most famous and highly reputed department of this institute for decades, has all the required and advanced facilities and equipment especially the laboratories and apparatuses. Therefore, it really helped me to develop a research aptitude which led me to decide and pursue “Academia” as my career and future track. During the last few months of my bachelors degree at RWU, I started applying for postgraduate studies at the world’s best universities across the world. As a result of my efforts, support and guidance of my teachers and my parent’s prayers, I not only secured admission in “Masters of Science in Chemistry and Material Sciences” but also was granted a full scholarship at Aalto University, Finland. Globally, Aalto University is ranked 9th in the QS ranking of universities under 50 years. Its “School of Chemical Engineering” which offers the abovementioned programme, is ranked as the top school/department in the field of chemistry all across Europe. I kicked-off my studies in August 2024 and it’s been an outstanding experience so far. I am grateful to Rawalpindi Women University for providing me with a solid foundation which helped and enabled me to get what I have today. Moreover, I would also like to thank Mrs. Sumaira Sadaf, Deputy Controller of Examination, for her continuous support and cooperation throughout my admission process and journey. Last but not the least, I would like to advise the current students of Rawalpindi Women University also to “Think big, dream big, believe big, and the result will be BIG” Inshallah. Start exploring such opportunities in order to excel in your life. As an alumni of RWU, I will be voluntarily available for any kind of guidance and counselling. You can reach me out at “komalraana891@gmail.com”. At the end, I could not stop myself from quoting our national poet, Allama Iqbal.

Ramsha Basharat BS Statistics (2019–2023) | MPhil Statistics (2023–2025)

My journey at Rawalpindi Women University (RWU) has been nothing short of transformative. I am currently pursuing my MPhil in Statistics (Batch 2023–2025) and proudly completed my BS in Statistics (Batch 2019–2023) from the same esteemed institution. Looking back, my undergraduate years were a beautiful and enriching experience. I had the honor of serving as Vice-President of the RWU Science Society and President of the Statistics Department—roles that significantly enhanced my leadership skills and filled my university life with vibrant memories. RWU also empowered me through Girl Guiding, which further built my confidence and sense of responsibility. In 2021, I participated in the Hult Prize competition, a global social entrepreneurship challenge, where I secured the 1st Runner-Up position at the university level and became a Regional Finalist, giving me early exposure to innovation and startup culture. My MPhil journey has taken my academic and personal growth to even greater heights. I participated in RWU's 1st Idea Fest (2024) and earned the Runner-Up position, and in the RWU 2nd Idea Fest (2025), where I was honored to secure the Winner’s position. I also took part in Idea Forge, a sub-event of RWU Rising Pakistan 4.0 (2025), where I achieved another Runner-Up position. These experiences broadened my academic exposure, strengthened my communication skills, and sparked a strong interest in problem-solving through entrepreneurial thinking. One of the most impactful chapters of my journey has been serving as the CEO of our startup Stat Forge: Expert Statistical Solutions. Stat Forge is Pakistan’s first freelancing marketplace dedicated entirely to statistics, connecting students, researchers, and professionals with expert statistical services, high-quality datasets, and educational resources. Our mission is to bridge the gap between statistical expertise and those who need it, by offering services in data analysis, report writing, survey design, visualization, and statistical training. We currently operate across multiple platforms, including our official website (www.statforge.com), YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Tiktok, Twitter, Threads, and LinkedIn. This success would not have been possible without the unwavering support and encouragement of my mentors, Dr. Saba Riaz, Dr. Musarrat Ijaz, Dr. Ghulam Narjis, and Dr. Maryam Murtaza, whose guidance played a key role in both my academic and entrepreneurial development. Their belief in our vision truly motivated me to push forward and Stat Forge has grown into a recognized entrepreneurial venture. Our most remarkable milestone so far has been our selection in SEE Pakistan 2024, a national platform showcasing top startups across the country, where Stat Forge was shortlisted among the Top 100 startups out of over 1700 entries nationwide. This recognition affirmed the importance and impact of our idea. The ORIC department at RWU played a crucial role by assisting with everything from designing our branding materials (banners, posters, business cards) to covering transportation expenses for national-level competitions. Their unwavering support and confidence in us continually inspired me to strive for excellence. My heartfelt thanks also go to the DSA department, which played a vital role in nurturing my leadership abilities. They provided me opportunities to represent RWU at various inter-university events and supported my extracurricular involvement whenever needed. These experiences widened my perspective and helped me grow holistically. The past six years at RWU have truly been the most remarkable era of my life. I’ve evolved not only as a student and entrepreneur but also as a more thoughtful, resilient, and committed citizen of Pakistan. I thank Allah Almighty for this incredible journey. I will forever cherish the values RWU has instilled in me, to serve with purpose, lead with integrity, and give my best to the nation, In Sha Allah.

My journey at Rawalpindi Women University (RWU) is one of remarkable transformation and resilience. Enrolling in the Information Technology program without a particular passion for coding, I initially saw the degree as a stepping stone — a competency rather than a destiny. But what began as a practical choice soon evolved into a powerful pursuit of purpose, creativity, and impact.

It was during my fourth semester that my direction shifted dramatically. Under the guidance of Dr. Haseena, a mentor who recognized my untapped potential, I discovered a new interest in design and development. I dove into a graphic design course that ignited my creative spark, and soon I was applying my skills in real-world projects. By my sixth semester, I was already managing remote freelance work — a testament to both my talent and determination.

I didn’t just stop at design. As my confidence and skills grew, I embraced more ambitious technological challenges. My final year project centered on Artificial Intelligence — developing AI-integrated websites that showcased my ability to blend user experience with smart automation. Alongside this, I worked on several e-commerce platforms and mobile applications, demonstrating full-stack capabilities and a clear vision for tech-driven solutions.

My journey wasn’t without hurdles. Living in a hostel and balancing societal expectations, academics, and client commitments often meant sleepless nights and emotional strain. But I leaned on the strength of my friendships-especially with my friend Aqsa. I faced stereotypes and doubt, particularly as a woman pursuing success in a male-dominated tech field. Yet, I turned those challenges into motivation.

After graduation, my determination only strengthened. I began freelancing, built a robust portfolio, and eventually started offering free graphic design courses and motivational seminars to empower students from underprivileged backgrounds. My mission became clear: to make tech education and opportunities accessible-especially for women, like me, who needed someone to believe in them.

Today, I work with international clients, runs my own initiatives, and serves as a mentor for aspiring tech professionals. From my early days of uncertainty to becoming a role model in IT and design, my story is not just one of success — it’s one of transformation, empowerment, and breaking boundaries.

Safrana Bibi (Btach 2022- 2024, BS Botany)

My  experience at Rawalpindi Women University (RWU), where i completed my Bachelor of Science in Botany at Rawalpindi Women University (RWU) from 2022 to 2024.It was a journey of profound transformation. My time in the Botany Department was not merely about academic learning. it was a period of discovery and innovation that ignited a passion within me.

Inspired by the profound knowledge I gained about plant life, I began experimenting with natural ingredients, leading to the formulation of various plant-based skincare products. This passion blossomed into entrepreneurship, and I  launched my own brand, Bakht Organics. This venture is a evidence to the strong foundation I received at RWU.

This would not have been possible without the steadfast support of my teachers. Their encouragement and guidance were instrumental in my success. Specifically, Dr. Shamim Akhter from my department consistently supported me and nurtured my botanical curiosity, and Ma’am Khadija Saeed from the DSA, who first recognized the potential in my work and encouraged me to take it to the next level. She was the one who initially directed me towards the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC).

The ORIC at RWU played a pivotal role in my entrepreneurial journey. Under the guidance of Dr. Motasim Billah, the director of ORIC, I navigated the complexities of starting and running a business. His consistent and persistent guidance opened doors to various institutes, significantly increasing my exposure and network. Ma’am Amber Kazmi, with her gentle support, helped me find the best vendors, a crucial step in establishing Bakht Organics.

My parents provided constant support, a reliable source of strength from the beginning. Their belief in me fueled my determination.

The university’s proactive approach to fostering practical skills was evident in the opportunities we were given to participate in various expos. These events provided valuable exposure and allowed me to connect with industry professionals, significantly boosting my confidence and business acumen.

Beyond the academic and entrepreneurial aspects, I cherished the vibrant community at RWU. While every day at RWU holds cherished memories, the Business Idea Fest competition stands out as a particularly impactful experience. Witnessing fellow students present such innovative and well-articulated business concepts was truly inspiring.

Today, I am running my own business, Bakht Organics, a direct result of the nurturing environment and consistent support I received at Rawalpindi Women University. I am deeply grateful for the education, mentorship, and opportunities that RWU provided, which have empowered me to turn my passion into a thriving reality. I encourage current students to leverage the resources and support available at RWU, as they are invaluable in shaping future success. Remember, with dedication, the right guidance, and the reliable support of loved ones, your dreams can indeed materialize into remarkable achievements.

My journey at Rawalpindi Women University (RWU) began in 2019 when I joined the BS Media and Communication Studies program. As someone deeply passionate about storytelling, digital media, and communication, I found RWU to be the perfect place to explore and grow in this field. The university’s vibrant academic environment and encouraging faculty helped me develop the skills and confidence I needed to thrive. As President, I worked with an incredible team to launch creative media projects, organize university event coverage, and create platforms for students to express themselves through photography, video, and digital storytelling. The experience taught me not just technical skills, but also how to lead, collaborate, and inspire others. The Department of Media and Communication Studies provided a strong foundation with hands-on learning, practical workshops, and opportunities that prepared me for the professional world. RWU helped me discover my voice not just as a media student, but as a young woman ready to make a difference. One of the most inspiring aspects of my academic journey was the guidance and entorship of Dr. Noman Ansari, the Head of the Department. Leading the Media Club not only honed my leadership and communication skills, but also gave me a deep sense of responsibility and pride in creating spaces for others to grow. After completing my degree in 2023, I was fortunate to step into the professional media world right away. I began my
career at Hum News, one of Pakistan’s leading news networks. Currently, I am serving as a Senior Monitoring Executive, where I oversee content flow, media strategy implementation, and real-time news monitoring. The skills I developed at RWU, especially in media analysis, communication, and leadership, have been instrumental in this role. Today, I carry forward the lessons, friendships, and experiences from RWU into my personal and professional life. I’m grateful to my mentors, teachers, and fellow students who supported me throughout this journey. To all current students: "Believe in yourself, take initiative, and never underestimate the power of your voice. Your story matters, tell it boldly.
