Rawalpindi Women University (RWU) successfully hosted its fifth annual inter-university competition, “Rising Pakistan 5.0,” drawing widespread participation from across the country. The event concluded with HITEC University Taxila securing both the Best University Award and the Best Ambassador Award.
Approximately 500 students representing 24 universities from across Pakistan participated in 25 diverse competitions. These included Bait Bazi, Naat recitation, Urdu and English speech contests, open mic sessions, essay writing, logo design, Code War, sketching, and environmental awareness activities. The participating universities included Air University, COMSATS University, Quaid-i-Azam University, National University of Modern Languages (NUML), UET Taxila, Iqra University, University of Lahore, Gomal University, Women University Mardan, and Rawalpindi Medical University.
In her message, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz) emphasized that education extends beyond earning degrees, aiming instead to develop responsible and informed citizens. She highlighted the importance of such platforms, where students from diverse academic backgrounds come together to exchange ideas and learn from one another. She further noted that co-curricular activities play a vital role in nurturing creativity, leadership, and personal development.
Chairperson of the Department of Psychology, Prof. Dr. Sobia Masood, remarked that co-curricular engagement fosters confidence and mutual respect among students. Meanwhile, Director Student Affairs Khadija Saeed expressed gratitude to all participants and organizers in her opening remarks.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where winners were awarded cash prizes and certificates.
