TEST RESOURCE LAB (TRL)

INTRODUCTION

Test Resource Lab (TRL), Department of Psychology, Rawalpindi Women University,
has been established to facilitate ethical, structured, and supervised access to
psychological tests and academic theses. The Lab serves as a dedicated academic
resource for students engaged in thesis research, providing them an opportunity to
undertake an extensive and disciplined study of standardized psychological
instruments.

The TRL is maintained and overseen by the Department of Psychology in accordance
with institutional and professional ethical standards. All access and use of
materials within the Lab is strictly for approved academic purposes.

The Lab houses a curated collection of psychological tests and the student thesis
catalogue, available for on-site reference and academic guidance. Materials may
only be consulted within the Lab premises and must be handled with care in
accordance with Lab rules.

No walk-in access is permitted under any circumstances.
Only students with a prior confirmed booking will be granted entry to the Lab.


RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • The Lab operates only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. No access shall be permitted outside these hours.
  • Prior booking is mandatory. Students must book their slot at least 24 hours in advance. Bookings outside designated days or time slots will not be accommodated.
  • Walk-in requests will not be entertained under any circumstances.
  • Each student may avail one slot per week, unless additional availability is formally communicated.
  • Late arrival may result in reduced usage time or cancellation of the booking.
  • Thesis and test materials shall be used exclusively for approved academic work only.
  • Reproduction of test or thesis content in any form—including photocopying, photographing, scanning, or digital sharing—is strictly prohibited.
  • Test and thesis items shall not be reproduced verbatim in theses, presentations, or publications beyond permitted ethical guidelines.
  • All activity in the Lab takes place under the supervision of authorized faculty or designated staff. Students must comply with all instructions issued by the supervising authority.
  • Any instance of misuse or non-compliance may lead to immediate termination of access and disciplinary action as per institutional rules.

BOOKING PROCEDURE

  1. Submit a Booking Request at Least 24 Hours in Advance
    Contact Ms. Tayyaba Malik in person or via email at
    tayyaba.malik@rwu.edu.pk.
    Specify your preferred day (Tuesday or Wednesday) within the designated slot of
    11:30 AM – 1:00 PM.
  2. Receive Booking Confirmation
    Access to the Lab is only granted upon prior written or verbal confirmation of
    your booking. Unconfirmed students will not be permitted entry.
  3. Arrive on Time with a Valid Student ID
    Present your student identification card at entry. Late arrival may result in
    reduced usage time or cancellation of the booking.
  4. Sign the Entry and Exit Register
    Students must sign the register upon each visit, indicating their name,
    thesis title, and supervisor’s name. Records are maintained by the department
    for monitoring and accountability.
  5. External Researchers Welcome
    Students, researchers, and academicians from other universities and institutes
    are also welcome to use the TRL after confirmed booking via
    tayyaba.malik@rwu.edu.pk.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Registered students of Rawalpindi Women University who are currently working on their thesis.
  • Students must present a valid student identification card upon entry.
  • Preference may be accorded to students in the final phase of thesis work, subject to availability.
  • A limited number of students shall be permitted per slot to ensure effective supervision and appropriate use of resources.
  • Each student may avail one slot per week, unless additional availability is formally communicated by the department.

CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Students shall maintain silence and academic decorum within the Lab at all times.
  • Use of mobile phones, food, and beverages is strictly prohibited inside the Lab.
  • All materials must be handled with due care and returned in proper condition.
  • Students shall follow all instructions issued by the supervising faculty or designated staff.
  • Thesis and test materials are for on-site consultation only and must not be removed from the premises.
  • Failure to adhere to this policy may result in suspension of access, reporting to the supervisor or department, and disciplinary action as per institutional rules.
