Student Mentorship Program
About Student Mentorship Program (SMP):
The Student Mentorship Program (SMP), launched in 2025 as a flagship initiative of the Directorate of Student Affairs at Rawalpindi Women University, is designed to empower students with essential skills for both academic excellence and professional success. The program strategically focuses on the following key areas of development:
- Civic Sense
- Career Counseling
- Soft Skills Development
- Hard Skills Development
SMP places a strong emphasis on leadership development, personal growth, and societal transformation. Through a wide range of seminars, workshops, and interactive engagements, students are provided with dynamic platforms to enhance their learning, cultivate essential life skills, develop civic responsibility and strengthen professional competencies.
Seminar on Communication Skills (April 08, 2025)
The Directorate of Student Affairs has launched the Student Mentorship Program to bridge the gap between academia and the professional world. As part of this initiative, a series of seminars and workshops are scheduled. The first seminar in the series was held on April 08, 2025, focusing on a core professional skill i.e communication.
The session was conducted by Prof. Dr. Matiur Rehman, Dean of Allied Health Sciences & Patient Safety at the Health Services Academy, Islamabad, and WHO Consultant for the National Patient Safety & Quality of Care Framework. The session aimed to enhance students’ interpersonal skills, improve their verbal and non-verbal communication, and build confidence for professional interactions.

Workshop on Resume Writing (April 29, 2025)
The Directorate of Student Affairs, in collaboration with PNY Trainings, organized a one-day workshop on “Resume Writing” as part of the ongoing Student Mentorship Program on April 29, 2025.
Dr. Sidra Mehmood, Assistant Professor, Riphah International University, shared expert strategies on crafting clear, tailored, and impactful resumes, emphasizing keyword optimization, structure, and job-specific customization to boost visibility.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Khadija Saeed, Addl. Director Student Affairs, who also presented a shield to the guest speaker.
The workshop saw enthusiastic student participation, reflecting RWU’s continued commitment to career readiness and professional growth.
Workshop Career Counselling (May 20, 2025)
As part of the ongoing Student Mentorship Program, the Directorate of Student Affairs, in collaboration with Mobilink Microfinance Bank, organized a one-day seminar titled “Financial Inclusivity and Career Counseling” on May 20, 2025.
The resource persons for the seminar Mr. Sameer and Ms. Aimen Rafiq Abbasi brought valuable insights from the financial and professional development sectors. They engaged with students through interactive sessions, highlighting the importance of financial literacy, budgeting, saving, and exploring diverse career paths aligned with students’ interests and skills.
This initiative aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth and SDG 4: Quality Education by promoting inclusive access to financial services and providing students with guidance to pursue meaningful employment opportunities.
The seminar concluded with a Q&A session, where students actively participated and expressed their appreciation for the practical knowledge and mentorship provided
Dil ki baat (Dec 9, 2025)
The Directorate of Student Affairs has launched a new interactive series “Dil Ki Baat (Heart’s Talk)” under the Student Mentorship Program, aimed at providing students with a safe and supportive platform to express their thoughts, emotions, and lived experiences, while promoting empathy, understanding, and personal growth.
The first episode of the series was held on December 16, 2025, with the participation of differently-abled students of RWU. The session featured Ms. Sahrish Jamil, Lecturer, Fine Arts, as the special guest, while Ms. Khadija Saeed, Additional Director Student Affairs, graciously hosted the discussion. Dr. Huma Rauf, Registrar, appreciated the efforts of the Directorate of Student Affairs for initiating this meaningful and impactful series.
During the session, students were encouraged to openly share their experiences, challenges, and aspirations. Meaningful conversations took place around societal attitudes towards disability, self-acceptance, and practical ways to foster a more inclusive, compassionate, and supportive environment within society and educational institutions.
The session concluded on an inspiring note, reinforcing RWU’s commitment to inclusivity, mentorship, and student well-being, and marking a promising beginning for the Dil Ki Baat series.
Digital Marketing and Its Impact on Global Business – PNY Training (16 dec 2025)
The Directorate of Student Affairs, in collaboration with PNY Trainings, organized a workshop on “Digital Marketing and Its Impact on Global Business” on December 17, 2025. The session was conducted by Mr. Salik Ameer Raja, who shared valuable insights into modern digital marketing trends, global business strategies, and the growing role of digital platforms in today’s economy.
Students gained practical knowledge of online branding, digital tools and emerging career opportunities in the digital sector. The workshop also contributed to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, supporting SDG 4 (Quality Education) through skills-based learning, SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by promoting employability and entrepreneurship, and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by encouraging digital innovation and transformation.
