Awareness Session for University Staff

Rawalpindi Women University organized an awareness session on the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 30, 2026 (Tuesday). The session was arranged to educate university staff members about the harmful effects of drug abuse, the dangers of illicit drug trafficking, and the importance of adopting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

Resource Person

The session was conducted by Ms. Umm Eman, Lecturer, Department of Psychology, who provided a comprehensive overview of drug abuse, its common misconceptions, harmful physical, psychological, and social impacts, and effective preventive measures. She also engaged the participants in practical awareness and self-reflection exercises aimed at enhancing stress management, informed decision-making, and resilience against substance abuse.

Counseling Services & ANF Helpline Awareness

Furthermore, Ms. Eman highlighted the services offered by the Rawalpindi Women University Counseling Center under the Department of Psychology, encouraging both students and staff to seek professional counseling and psychological support whenever needed. She also informed the participants about ANF helpline as a valuable resource for reporting drug-related activities and seeking assistance.

Closing Ceremony

The event concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, followed by the closing remarks delivered by Ms. Khadija Saeed, Director Student Affairs. In her address, she commended Ms. Umm Eman for sharing her valuable expertise and appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the staff.
